OUR TEAM
Our multi-disciplinary team includes legal professionals, researchers, academics and trainers, as well as AI engineers. Our legal team specialises in digital and AI law, media and copyright law, human rights, labour and international law. Our associates operate across jurisdictions - EU, UK, and Africa.
Our strategy and writing team have decades in governance, technical, and innovation projects.
Our trainers are multi-disciplinary - from governance training to innovation and digital practice. Our key offering is risk training for executives, board directors and risk management officers.
OUR FOUNDER
Our founder and Managing Partner, Kathryn Berman, (Kathy) - BA Hons; MBA (finance and marketing); LLM (AI Law) PhD in AI Law in process - has spent thirty years specialising as a consultant and advisor in the media, communications, technology and innovation sectors for government and private sector clients, delivering on legislative drafting, white papers, policy, corporate governance and risk strategies.
She is a skilled strategist and a dynamic facilitator and trainer and has led over 400 workshops in business strategy and innovation. Her earlier career was as a media practitioner: journalist and television producer.
Kathy has an MBA in Corporate Finance (1996), and an LLM (Masters in Law) in AI and Digital Law (2025) - both cum laude.
Her PhD in AI Law is in process.
She has legal diplomas in post-graduate company law, digital and telecommunications law, and mediation (2000 onwards).
A deeply committed social impact activist, she also founded and leads non-profit www.impact4good.co.za
